That’s why I’m catching rays on the fire escape

Cuz no one’s ever there (I’m so alone)

There are no ocean sounds

But it’s the best place that I’ve found

To avoid people cuz it’s 12 feet off the ground

It’s really not that great (not great)

It’s not sexy at all

And there’s a chance that I could fall

I smile at people far away as they walk by my place
But I can’t tell if they’re smiling back cuz they’re covering their face
